“The self-image of women in Mongolian society using the example of ECO MOMS” - A lecture by Karsten Wittke

The artist Karsten Wittke has been traveling regularly to Murun in northern Mongolia, a twin town of Baruth/Mark Brandenburg, for almost a decade to support development projects in the areas of water and vocational training. Since his youth, he has regarded Mongolia as a place of longing and has also been artistically active there. Since 2015, he has been creating sketches and developing the work cycle “mongolien”, which is dedicated to the Mongolian landscape and evokes associations with the elemental forces of nature. His works also address the cultural exchange and dialog between Europe and Asia, influenced by his encounters with local artists and Mongolian culture.
