Munkhtsetseg Batmunkh | Батмөнхийн Мөнхцэцэг
Munkhtsetseg Batmunkh, known as Muujii, was born in 1982 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. She is an artist who shows a deep sensitivity to nature and the human condition in her beloved Mongolia. Through her modern art, she explores themes such as the environment, cultural heritage and society. She tries to portray the inner essence of women, their beauty, perfection and emotions, through her paintings and colors.
Muujii's artistic expression is particularly remarkable as she often uses natural materials such as Mongolian felt, the traditional material for the walls of the yurt. As a member of the Nomad Wave Performance Group, she expresses culture, heritage and nature in her compositions.
In 2006, Muujii received a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the School of Fine Arts at MNUAC in Ulaanbaatar.
She participated in the nomad workshops and land art programs of the Mongolian Art Council and Hoh Nar Center. In 2010 she was a member of the Nomad Wave Action Art Group. She has also participated with her work in international exhibition projects such as the "HEART BODY MIND" festival in Nepal, the international Land Art 360 Mongolia Biennale, the Tradition Renewal Media Art Festival, the Biennale in Beijing, France, Belgium, Korea, China, Japan and Shanghai.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous countries, including Mongolia, China, Korea, Germany, Belgium and France. In 2011, she participated in the "Time and Space" Nomadic Art Residency Fellowship Program organized by the Arts Council of Mongolia and the Arts Council Korea in Umnugobi Province, Mongolia.
